Starting in 2011 FSAs (Flexible Spending Accounts) will no longer cover over the counter medications. This includes over the counter pain relievers, flu medications, and allergy medications with out a prescription. This new rule applies only to drugs and medications.
You can still purchase medical supplies such as crutches, band-aids, contact lens solutions, eyeglasses, and hearing aid batteries. It may be a good idea to stock up on over the counter medications before the new rules go into affect.
